My first thought for this project when I heard we could make it just about anything we wanted, was to feed the class. I was thinking, cool this will be a Make assignment, but then I realized I needed to probably develop it more so that it related to the class in more than one aspect. As we talked about it as a group, we realized that we all had different literacy sponsors and practices, when it came to cooking. So we adjusted our plan to test different literacies and hack some recipes.

I did a lot of the cooking when it came to the lasagna because for that literacy, my mother was my sponsor and I made the sauce and used a recipe from memory. I am not always the best designator when it comes to cooking, but I tried to ask for help or give tasks to Cristina and Sarah as much as I could to expand the literacy to being from both my mom and myself.

We faced a few problems while cooking, which were odd instances like the dough hook being stuck on my stand mixer and the stove not working. It was not a big deal but it caused frustration and inconvenience. Because the wrong attachment was stuck on the mixer, we tried to use it still and it seemed to work somewhat, but the consistency of the batter for the cupcakes seemed a lot thicker than usual. The stove not working was more frustrating because it seemed to be working multiple times, but as we tried cooking the sausage it was not cooking.

If I were to do anything differently it would be checking that everything was working properly and maybe try to ask for help more. I tend to get stuck in my head when cooking and try to do everything myself, so to ask for help would be beneficial and may have made everything finish faster.
